Regardless of which therapeutic approach a counsellor and client engage in, the therapeutic process involves a partnership between the two. The quality of therapist-client relationship is one of the main factors contributing to positive therapeutic outcome.
My therapeutic approach combines the following modalities:
Somatic Transformation works to restore the body own natural self-regulating systems. Clients are guided in using subtle movements, images and physical sensations to gently release and integrate traumatic memories. Click here for more information.
Mindfulness Based Therapy helps to relieve symptoms of psychological stress, negative mental states and physical pain. Clients are encouraged to cultivate greater awareness, inner balance and acceptance as fundamental aspects of the healing process. Click here for more information.
Narrative Therapy sees people as resourceful and creative. It aims to separate the problem from the person, thus empowering the client to have authority over the problem. Clients are supported in revisiting, unpacking and reconstructing their stories so they can adopt new ways of relating with their lives. This can be a revealing process, resulting in emerging insight and new meaning making.
Sessions are available in person, by phone, or on Skype.
