If we try to control our emotions, we may find that they intensify and take us on a merry-go-round of fear and confusion.
In sitting meditation we can learn to work with our emotions, feeling their textures underneath the mind-made dramas that often accompany them. Relating with our emotions in this way allows us to free their energy.
We can experience the energy of our emotions without believing the stories we tell ourselves about them. We can let our emotions come and go without being at their mercy. We can discover in this liberated energy our fundamental energy tender, alive and strong.
