The Truth of Who We Are

External changes often emerge out of deeply shifting our perspective of who we are. As meaning and purpose become clearer to us, what is out of alignment in our life falls away; however, the most fundamental change is within us. It is a profound shift in our perspective, where we direct our attention and intention. The most essential change, the one from which all other changes initiate from, is a change in our worldview and our perception of what is possible.

The Sufi poem Rumi said it this way:

Humankind is being led
along an evolving course,
through this migration
of intelligences
and though we seem
to be sleeping
there is an inner wakefulness,
that directs the dream
and that will eventually
startle us back
to the truth of
who we are
